Investing in massage is an investment in your health.
*Complimentary aromatic and or topical uses of therapeutic grade essential oils may be used in every type of massage unless requested otherwise.*
Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy- A very deep tissue massage without any of the discomfort. Ashiatsu is performed with the therapist's feet while supporting themselves with the bars overhead. The session takes place unclothed with sheets for draping just like the other massages and oil is applied to the body for gently gliding over the muscles. Using the force of gravity the therapist is able to easily excert a lot of pressure without the discomfort of bones or fingers. The extra padding and larger surface area of the foot allows for a softer but deeper sensation. With such deep compression there is also a secondary massage that takes place on the organs from the conterpressure from the table. Check out the videos on the home page and the ashiatsu page to see a sample of the technique.
*As this is a new technique and may seem a little different to try I am offering a first time price of $60, the same as a regular massage.*
Ashi-Stone- A wonderful combination of an Ashiatsu session with the addition of Hot Stone therapy.
Swedish Massage - This is the most relaxing types of massages. The main focus of a Swedish massage is to increase circulation of fluids. The massage stays on the superficial surfaces to mobilize the most fluid, as in your lymph and blood. It is beneficial in supplying fresh blood to the body and flushing out the lymph system for an immune boost.
Deep Tissue/Therapeutic Massage - As the name implies, this massage focuses on the deeper muscle layers of the body. Depending on the time length of the massage, we focus on one or more areas of the body to gain access to deeper muscle layers. This massage is most beneficial for those who are experiencing some type of pain or discomfort. The massage can be contained to a small area or a full body blend of therapeutic and deep tissue can be customized depending on the clients goals and needs.
Hot Stone Massage - *See Oct. '14 Newsletter for more detail* This massage is done as either a Swedish or deep tissue massage but with the therapist holding warmed stones. As the heat is transferred from the stone to the client's soft tissue then it quickly relaxes the superficial muscles so access to the deeper issues is gained allowing more therapeutic work to be accomplished in a shorter time. This is beneficial for people who enjoy things like heating pads and hot tubs.
Myofascial Release - This is a technique created by Dr. Kirsch DC. It is therapeutic muscle technique that is done fully clothed with a percusser device. It helps to isolate muscles whose facial system has adhered inappropriately to surrounding tissue and separate these adhesions. The myofascial release technique quickly decreases pain, increases range of motion and has lasting results. A session typically focuses on one area at a time and a session lasts for about 15 minutes.
Pre-Natal/Pregnancy Massage - A Swedish massage designed for women who are expecting. While we can do some deep tissue work for painful areas, it is important to not do much as it releases toxins into the body which circulates to the baby.
Thai Massage - A very unique type of massage commonly referred to as "Lazy Man's Yoga". A relaxing yet energizing massage that is performed fully clothed on a padded mat on the ground. The therapist places the client into different yoga like stretches then performing muscle manipulation while in the stretch. Being "flexible" is not a requirement as all of the stretches are modified and performed based on the clients ability. Comfortable loose or stretchy clothes are recommended to receive the most benefit.
